We decided on a sweet little tea party theme for our baby girl's first birthday. For the special occasion, we made these adorable A-frame tents for the outdoor party.
I made both of our dresses. For hers, I followed this straightforward tutorial for a pillowcase dress. I love the owl and fox print. To make it even more adorable I added the pom ribbon to the bottom hem.
My dress extended to the floor (this is the best photo I have). I made this dress using an existing shirt as a pattern. I used fabric that does not fray so I was able to leave the neck, sleeves and bottom hem unfinished. The only seams are down the 2 sides and on the 2 shoulders. I love 2 things about this dress: 1. how easy it was to make 2. the pattern and colors are simple yet bold.
For our sweet, sweet Zoey, we had a sweet ice cream bar loaded with toppings. Throughout her party I used recycled baby food jars for various things from ice cream toppings, party favors and tea light candle favors.
For this heart collage of photos I used these Foto Clips. They are awesome and can be used to form different shapes and even make lampshades.
There you have it. Fun ideas on how to make your next tea party, one to remember. I hope you found this helpful and it inspires to do something special for your little one! We'd love to hear from you so leave us your comments below.
